The extraordinary location of the Lighthouse (in Capo di Murro di Porco, Sicily, Italy) provides a great opportunity to explore the environment and be able to reach the sea. Therefore, the building guides the people to enjoy and find the richness of the cliff through different moments. 

The sequence of approaches is defined by the ground adaptation and the linearity of the building. Moreover, the circular ramp offers a balanced experience between relaxation and outdoor calm stroll.

The materialization of the building evokes the expressive rock of the environment. The building, together with the rock, becomes fused in a harmonious coexistence. In addition, the porosity of the facade makes the building lighter and provides proximity to the human scale. This way, the natural light can penetrate towards the public spaces. These multiple perforations have glass and a solar shutter to get an appropriate light control and spatial interior qualitiy.

The program explores various approaches and connections in between the uses. It is ranged from the sleeping to the sport activities, going through the recreation of the walkways, the relaxation of the cafeteria, and the natural terrace. This sequence of activities provides the possibility to use and enjoy the building in different ways and for a wide variety of users.

The visitors can reach the building both from the sea and the earth. On the seaside, there are several exciting water activities, while on the earth side we can find the silence and peacefulness of the environment.
